Georgina Balmer Photography respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal data. This privacy notice sets out as to how we look after your personal data when you visit our website, informs you of your privacy rights and how the law protects you.

1. Who is collecting the data?

2. What data is being collected?

2.1 We may collect personal data from visitors to the Site for the purposes of: 

Providing our services, answering your queries, dealing with your order(s) and booking(s); and providing you with information about our products and services.

The personal information we may collect includes:

  • First name, maiden name, surname
  • Contact information, including phone number & email address
  • Demographic information such as address and postcode, preferences and interests
  • Other information relevant to your wedding or event

2.2 If you e-mail us or send us messages via social media, these messages are stored within our email system or social media accounts. 

2.3 Please inform us of any changes to address, or other information you have voluntarily given to us.

SITE ACTIVITY DATA

Each time you visit the Site, we collect and log certain technical information including but not limited to:

- IP address

- your username (if applicable), 

- referrer information if you clicked on an external link in order to access the Site. 

We use these logs solely for performance, site administration and security reviews. We do not sell or share this information with any third party.

PHOTOGRAPHS

The photographs we take are also considered as personal data and will be treated as such.

3.2 In some cases, data may be given to us by a third party. This includes if somebody purchases a voucher for you – they will usually give us your name and details to allow us to process their order, and provide our service to you.

4.1 Most of the data we collect is solely for the purpose of providing you with a service you have ordered, or had ordered for you.
4.2 Some of the data we collect is to help provide you with a better customer service experience.
4.3 We are required by law to collect and store certain information relating to any order you place with us.

5. How will it be used?

5.1 Data we collect will be used to enable us to provide our services and products to you.
5.2 Contact data (e-mail addresses) may be used to send you direct offers from us about upcoming promotions or newsletters. These can be unsubscribed from at any time.

5.3 We may internally analyse data for business and forecast purposes.

5.4 We have a legitimate interest in using images taken in relation to your booking and may use these images in the following ways:

• On social media for promotion & advertising purposes
• On our website for promotion & advertising purposes
• For marketing materials (business stationary, flyers, business cards etc)
• For publications/print

(Note, clients are free at anytime to refuse the uses of these images at any time by unchecking the boxes on their contracts)

6. Who will it be shared with?

6.1 We do not sell your data to third party organisations. There are a few scenarios where some of your data may be shared with third parties to allow us to provide our services to you. 

These may include:

• Delivery and Postage Service Providers to allow us to send you documentation and orders you have placed. (Information shared includes Name, Address and in some case e-mail address / mobile number)
• Manufacturers (our printing labs) if we are sending an order directly to you from a lab. (Information shared includes Name, Address and in some case e-mail address / mobile number)
• Law Enforcement and Legal Requirements – we will provide data to law enforcement agencies if issued with a court order to do so.

7. How long is the data stored?

7.1 We will hold your data for a period of 10 years to comply with legal requirements and business needs after which electronic data will be deleted and physical documents will be securely disposed of.

7.2 The details stored on record for you can be viewed by you personally at any time. These details are on your personal contract form, or any booking forms completed by you. 

8. Access to stored data:

8.1 If you have any questions about data we hold about you, please feel free to contact us. 
8.2 You may request a copy of any data we store about you and we will comply with any requests as per the guidance of the Information Commissioner’s Office. 

8.3 You will not have to pay a fee to access your personal data (or exercise any other right.) However, we reserve the right to charge a reasonable fee if your request is clearly unfounded, repetitive or excessive. Alternatively, we may refuse to comply with your request in these circumstances.
